Our Story: What Anima Haus Means

Anima Haus means, plainly translated, soul house. Anima — the Latin root for soul, breath, the animating force of a living thing. Haus — the old European word for a house of craft, the kind that used to sit behind names like Chanel or Dior before “brand” was even a word. Put the two together and you get something we didn't invent so much as grow into: a house built for the soul, not just the body that carries it.

We started as a boutique because we believed the things closest to your skin deserve the same care as the things everyone else can see. A soft-cup bra crafted in Poland. Ceremonial cacao poured slow, the way it's been made for centuries. A robe you actually want to stay in past nine in the morning. None of it is precious for its own sake — it's precious because it asks you to slow down long enough to notice how you feel, which is a small, radical thing most days don't make room for.

What We Believe

We believe in choosing well over choosing fast — picking pieces meant to last, from people who made them with care, over whatever's cheapest and quickest. We believe in honoring the body instead of managing it, which shapes almost everything on our shelves: extended-size lingerie instead of one narrow size run, soft fabric instead of anything that asks you to just push through discomfort. And we believe in rituals, not just products — the kind of small, repeated acts that turn an ordinary Tuesday into something you were actually present for.

That's not a tagline. It's closer to the reason the shelves look the way they do: lingerie next to cacao, candles next to loungewear, because we've never believed comfort and ceremony belonged in separate aisles.

Why Samanta

Our lingerie collection is made by Samanta, a Polish maker with a long history of craftsmanship in soft-support and underwire construction. We chose them specifically because they build in extended sizing — 30 to 40 band, B to J cup — which reflects an actual belief, not just a size chart: that fit shouldn't be a privilege reserved for whoever the standard range happens to accommodate.

Beyond the Shelves

Anima Haus has always been more than a place to buy things. We host gatherings — cacao ceremonies, quiet conversations, small moments that don't fit neatly into a product description. If you've been to one, you know the shop is really an excuse for the room. If you haven't yet, you're welcome to come as you are.

Come As You Are

Leave feeling held — by fabric that was chosen with your skin in mind, by a space that isn't rushing you, and by the idea, however old-fashioned it sounds, that a house can still be built around a soul.
